Prothonotary Warbler - Week 21

EXTRA

We think there’s a prothonotary warbler nest in the swamp at the front of the house, but we have not been able to spot it. It always surprises me that such a bright yellow can be a good camouflage, but it works well in a swamp where the sun breaks through in spots all around, flashing off leaves. Prothonotaries are cavity nesters, although we did have one in a bluebird house some years ago. We had hopes that he was inspecting the birdhouse in this gallery, but no luck yet. Week 21 was May 17-23.
