On April 22, the rail trestle across Runyan Creek between Washington Park and Washington NC failed. It was a close call for the locomotive and crew as the south track fell by a foot or more. The Carolina Coastal Railway engineer did a great job of stopping the train and getting a car astraddle the broken span. to minimize the weight on the bad section. Here are a couple of dozen stills and a video of the event clean-up.
