Here’s the nightly CSX freight that passes through Chocowinity on the way to the phosphate mine near Aurora. The site is ironically referred to as Lee Creek, a creek which no longer exists because its entire basin was, years ago, turned into a 100-foot deep pit. This freight carries chemicals and fertilizer between the mine to and from Rocky Mount.
